At Tucson Outpatient Psychiatry, we believe that healing doesn’t have to happen alone. Group Therapy offers a powerful way to connect with others who understand what you’re going through—while building skills, gaining insight, and finding support in a safe, therapist-led environment.
Whether you’re facing anxiety, life changes, or emotional overwhelm, group therapy can help you feel seen, supported, and empowered to take the next step forward.
Group Therapy is a structured, therapeutic setting where a small group of individuals meet regularly with a licensed therapist to explore shared challenges and develop healthier ways of coping.
Each session is designed to provide:
Our groups are kept small to ensure every participant has the space to feel heard, respected, and supported.
Group therapy can be helpful for people from all walks of life. It’s especially effective if you:
Whether you're just starting your mental health journey or looking for a deeper layer of support, Group Therapy offers tools, connection, and community.
Each group is led by a skilled therapist who provides structure, guidance, and emotional safety. Groups meet on a weekly basis and focus on skill-building, emotional insight, and peer support.
You can expect:
You don’t have to speak or share more than you’re comfortable with—your therapist will help guide you at your own pace.
Not at all. You’re always encouraged to share at your comfort level. Many people choose to listen at first and begin participating more as they feel safe. There's no pressure—group therapy is about meeting you where you are.
Groups are intentionally kept small—typically between 5 and 10 participants—to ensure everyone has time and space to feel heard and supported.
Topics vary depending on the group but may include emotion regulation, communication skills, stress management, anxiety, boundaries, self-esteem, and relationship patterns. We’ll help you find a group that fits your goals.
Yes—Group Therapy can be just as effective as individual therapy and, in some cases, even more so. It offers unique benefits like peer support, shared insight, and real-time relationship feedback that can accelerate personal growth.
Absolutely. Many clients find that combining individual therapy with group therapy offers a well-rounded approach. Your therapist can help determine what combination is best for you.
At this time, group therapy is only offered in person at our Tucson office to maintain the structure and group dynamic. However, many of our other therapy services are available virtually throughout Arizona.
